Sharon committee sets LHMP renewal timeline; draft due July 7

Facilitator Ari Lattanzi, of TRORC, told the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) Renewal Committee on May 12 that she expects to deliver a draft LHMP to the Sharon Selectboard by July 7 for review. "Mitigation as reducing risk and exposure," Lattanzi said while outlining the plan's purpose and focus areas.
Lattanzi described the planned steps: Selectboard review of the draft, submission to Vermont Emergency Management for state review and approval, and return to the Selectboard for final adoption. She recommended the town review the LHMP annually alongside the Local Emergency Management Plan and reminded members that towns must review LHMPs after each natural disaster. The meeting convened at 6:00 PM and adjourned at 7:02 PM.
