Sharon Energy Committee chair asks Shared Energy Coordinator to note missing School Street sidewalk to school

At its May 26 meeting, the Sharon Energy Committee reviewed the Shared Energy Coordinator's sidewalk inventory and identified a key omission. Ryan Haac, chair of the Sharon Energy Committee, said the draft did not identify the lack of any sidewalk along School Street that provides access to the elementary school and asked that omission be added to the study.
Committee members said the inventory is a prerequisite for many potential VTrans bike and pedestrian infrastructure projects and discussed implementation considerations. The group noted that for a major sidewalk project the town could bury electrical lines in conduit in conjunction with construction, which committee members said would open up the full potential for the stretch of Route 14 through the village.
