The council approved an interlocal agreement (ILA) with Riverside Fire Authority (RFA) after a brief discussion about cost and capacity. Interim Community Development/Public Works Director Katie Williams told the council the ILA "will not cost the city," explaining that RFA will charge based on its fee schedule and those services are covered by fire permit fees billed to the permit applicant.
Councilor Ivan Wiediger asked why District 5 was not used for this work; staff responded that RFA had previously reported limited capacity in the district and that a synopsis from RFA was included in the meeting packet. Don Webster moved to approve the ILA; the motion passed 4-0.
