Mossyrock treasurer reports year-end finances; state audit underway

Treasurer Angie Hartmann reported to the Mossyrock City Council that fourth-quarter revenue came in at 104.06% of budget while expenses reached 101.5% of budget, calling the results “fairly close to the budget.” She told the council the state audit team has completed an entrance interview and is reviewing the city’s payroll and gross wages, accounts payable and disbursements, cash receipting and compliance with open public meeting and minutes requirements for 2021–2023.
Hartmann described extensive document searches to satisfy audit requests, saying she “has had almost every box out in the storage area behind her desk looking for stuff at one point or another.” The council did not take formal action on the audit during the meeting; Hartmann said the audit is ongoing and staff will provide updates as the review proceeds.
