Staff updated the board on recent acquisition activity, saying the city closed on Linda Minton's property (parcels 69 and 77) on the west side of Turnbull Creek, and that parcel 108 has a signed contract going to closing. Staff said agreement on parcel 37 (Bay Drive) has been reached and other parcels (122, 68) are moving toward contract signature.
"We have just under $4,000,000 left in the funds," the staff report said. Staff also noted appraisals are pending on several parcels, one of the appraisers has fallen ill and replacements are being sought.
Board members asked about parcels where seller and staff are far apart on price; staff said negotiations on some (106, 106A, 107) are unlikely to succeed at present prices. The acquisition update also identified parcels that extend conservation corridors and spots useful for public access or buffers.
