The Community Redevelopment Agency approved a small-scale 50/50 matching façade grant of $14,500 to Harshaw LLC, owner Trey Harshaw, for exterior storefront improvements at 121 North Orange Street.
Samantha Bergeron, director, described the small-scale program and said the grant is intended to encourage redevelopment and enhance commercial frontage in the CRA district. For this application, Bergeron said the total estimated exterior cost is $29,000 and staff recommended the $14,500 CRA match for new awnings, exterior wall demolition and repair. A board member asked whether there were any questions; none were raised and the motion to approve passed unanimously.
The grant is limited to exterior work under the CRA program and does not fund interior renovations. The funding comes from the CRA small-scale commercial façade grant allocation for the current fiscal year.
