Building commissioner reports multiple Westgate and residential projects

Building Commissioner Walter Maynard updated the board on several active projects in the Westgate shopping area and on residential permit activity. He listed a recent tattoo-removal business application, a sweat-house business, and a Petco remodeling project among commercial activity, and said numerous residential projects, including pools, are keeping the department busy.
"There are also numerous residential projects keeping Building Department busy including a few pools," Maynard said, noting that staff often works with residents for months before matters come before the board. The update was delivered as part of the meeting's general business; there were no formal actions attached to these status reports.
