Hardin County approves amendments and records-release tied to Central Iowa Juvenile Detention settlement

Hardin County's board on July 15 approved a package of measures tied to Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center as the final steps of a settlement over participation and voting rights. Chair (S5) described the action as concluding litigation between counties and the detention center, saying, "this is the final step of the settlement that was made." Committee member (S4) moved the directive and read the motion on the record: "I would make a motion to direct the Hardin County Auditor to release to Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center sealed records belonging to Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center upon written request and signed receipt." The motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
