Authority approves $1.906 million contract for 24-inch water line to serve South Broken Arrow

The Broken Arrow municipal authority voted to award a $1,906,000 contract to Cherokee Bridal Construction to build a 24-inch water transmission line on 9th Street, project listed on the agenda as project number 23080. Charlie Bright, speaking for staff, described the work as "the completion of 1 of the last pieces of our southern loop of our of our trans of our transmission system to get water to South Broken Arrow."

Bright told trustees the project is a large-diameter line intended to improve capacity to South Broken Arrow and that staff negotiated a land trade with a private developer to secure additional right-of-way for future road widening and storm-water improvements. He said four companies bid on the contract and Cherokee Bridal Construction submitted the lowest bid, $1,906,000. A member moved to approve project number 23080; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.

Trustees recorded affirmative roll-call votes during the approval. Staff and trustees subsequently compared on-record project numbers after the vote — one device listed 241626 while the agenda/project number was discussed as 23080 — and participants confirmed the awarded contract corresponded to the item discussed. The authority did not enter executive session and adjourned following completion of business.
