Council addresses small-items: payment extension, state bill info, trailer use, water-line concerns

Several routine and informational items were handled under other business at the Feb. 9 Meade City Council meeting. City Clerk Christina Redger requested an extension to re-extend a utility payment from Feb. 10 to Feb. 18 for $164.64; the council gave general consensus to approve the extension.
Redger also provided information on Kansas HB 2745 regarding possible state taxation changes; the council took no immediate action. City Administrator Dean Cordes said the trailer at the City Power Plant/Shop used for small branches is being utilized by the public and that a ditch for burning has been dug for future use. Councilmember Lance DeLissa asked whether the city could switch lines on the 2026/2027 water line project in light of winter breaks; Cordes will follow up with contractor Pennick. The council also noted that recent washout at the Dalton Gang Hideout will require replacement of sidewalk and concrete where soil was washed out beneath a dip. Roberto Holguin reported that Cottrell Street had been recently graded.
