The Meade City Council on Jan. 12 approved a five‑year plan for the Meade Municipal Airport that includes a proposed 80‑foot by 100‑foot Box Hangar and a taxiway intended as a possible Fiscal Year 2030 project. The plan was presented by Darin Neufeld of Evans, Bierly, Hutchison & Associates, P.A., and carried on a motion by Councilmember Lance DeLissa, seconded by Councilmember Brian Kroth; the motion passed unanimously.
Council then approved a separate contract for engineering services for the “Meade Municipal Airport Construct of T‑Hangars 2025” (AIP 3-20-0055021-2026 & 3-20-0055-022-2026) with EBH for $65,000. The contract authorizes EBH to proceed with design work; bids for construction work are scheduled to open in April 2026. During the presentation Neufeld noted site details including hangar door sizes and placement, and council confirmed that existing surface cracks would be addressed as part of the sealing project tied to near‑term maintenance work.
The approvals set the city on a path toward soliciting construction bids next spring and preserving project options for FY2030, while leaving specifics such as final hangar placement and door dimensions subject to further design work and future council review.
