Council discussed forming an affordable-housing and master-plan subcommittee that would meet prior to the planning board's June 12 meeting to review applications and draft elements. Speakers said they plan to include planning-board members and town staff and to use GIS overlays to assemble environmental, stormwater and housing data to justify any consideration of affordable-housing locations.
Councilmembers noted an upcoming June 18 deadline for Department of Community Affairs filings related to the affordable-housing trust fund and said they will prepare and submit required accounting. The committee appointment and schedule were advanced so staff could meet filing and review timelines.
