Council reports: World Cup preparations, summer events, DPW summer hours and community programming

Council members delivered a series of routine reports covering public-safety planning, parks and recreation, library programming, DPW operations, and planning updates.
OEM said it has coordinated with federal, state and county partners for World Cup events at MetLife and other related activities. DPW reported it began summer hours (starting at 6:30 a.m., Monday—Thursday) and listed completed maintenance including mulch deliveries (285 loads to date), field raking, and building repairs. Recreation announced an outdoor movie night (Zootopia 2) and a June 12 live stream of the USA World Cup game at Stone Point Park; the library noted upcoming events (American history trivia on June 4, mocktail mixology class on June 11 and a murder-mystery fundraiser on June 13).
Planning and environmental commission items included a postponed data-center discussion until July and ongoing work on design standards for an overlay zone. Council members also reported on Veterans Day activities and other community programming.
