The council approved a resolution authorizing an amended agreement with Permidian to digitize dog licensing and renewals so residents can register dogs and submit rabies vaccine documentation online. "Passage of this resolution will result in our constituents and residents in Middletown not having to take time off from work to come into the office to register their dogs," the City Clerk said.
The clerk said the service carries a technology fee paid by users (about $2 on an $11 transaction and $3 on a $23 transaction) and that there is no cost to the city. The clerk also said the online service will automate renewal reminders and reduce paper waste. The resolution was moved, seconded and passed by roll call.
