Council approves comprehensive‑plan update for Northside Christian Church site to enable office‑neighborhood zoning

Community Development Director Rocca Hinkle summarized the application and said Planning Commission approved the request at its Dec. 19, 2024 meeting by a 4‑0 vote.
Hinkle told the council the applicant seeks to change the plan designation to allow future commercial development and that a rezoning application to Office Neighborhood (ON) is pending if council approves the comprehensive‑plan change. Staff recommended approval and no public opposition had been filed. A council member asked whether the change affected nearby access or connections; staff confirmed the amendment does not alter adjacent access patterns. The council moved, seconded and approved the plan amendment.
