Interactive mapping, trails and parks questions central to Greenfield outreach plan

City planner Brad demonstrated the map component of Greenfield’s engagement platform, showing how residents can add points (assets), stars (opportunities) and lines (proposed trails) and then comment or 'thumbs up' others’ entries. "This is the interactive side of this that gives people a chance to play on a map and give us some kind of physical direction," Brad said, stressing that mapped suggestions provide guidance, not guarantees of implementation.
Staff said the map includes specific prompts about parks — Central Park, two neighborhood parks and two future growth areas — and will ask users about park features they want. Brad said the map is intended to inform planning for a recently discussed development area (referenced repeatedly as the 'black property') and that the planning grant selection will help fund consultant work for that area. Council members asked for clearer ways to reach business owners and non-sewer households; staff confirmed demographic filters will allow cross-referencing responses by water/sewer connection.
