The Board of Zoning Appeals on Jan. 28 denied a requested 2.2-foot variance for a new rear wing at 2901 W 69th Street (applicants Kristie and Mark Clifft) but approved variances for a front addition and the house's left side.
Presiding Mark Eisemann moved to deny the application for the rear wing; Kent Barnow seconded. That motion failed on a 2-1 vote, denying the requested 2.2-foot variance. Later, Gabe Beam moved to approve the front-addition variance (7.6 feet for both first and second floors) and a 3.2-foot variance on the left side of the house; Barnow seconded and the board approved those variances 3-0.
The variances approved will allow a larger front addition across both primary floors and a modest left-side setback adjustment. The board record lists the applicants’ address as 2901 W 69th Street. The meeting minutes do not record individual board members’ roll-call votes for the Clifft rear-wing split (which is recorded only as 2-1) nor provide additional conditions attached to the approvals.
The board handled the Clifft applications as separate determinations: the rear-wing variance was denied, while the front-addition and side-yard requests were granted. The board did not record further staff conditions or appeal instructions in the minutes for these items.
