The Mission Woods City Council reviewed the police report at its Jan. 6 meeting and discussed two accidents at the Rainbow and Shawnee Mission Blvd. intersection that had been raised in prior meetings. Mayor Erica Hartley pointed to the recurring incidents and Councilmember Ramsey Mohsen said the council should contact the Kansas Department of Transportation for the status of the traffic study at that intersection.
Chief Curt Mansel told the council that Westwood officers stop in to inform residents when they find open garage doors; Councilmember Mohsen thanked Chief Mansel for that practice. The council did not adopt any formal remedial action at the meeting but recorded the request to seek an update from KDOT on the implemented traffic study.
