Council reviews Midvale’s first Parks, Trails and Open Space Master Plan; map update requested

Midvale staff and consultants presented the city’s first comprehensive Parks, Trails and Open Space Master Plan and an associated Impact Fee Facilities Plan (IFFP), summarizing 2025 community engagement results and identifying underserved areas for future park acquisition and improvements.
“We have been working on this project since the beginning of the year,” said Ryan Wallace, the project manager from MHTN, describing the public outreach and analysis that informed the plan. Residents and the Active Transportation Committee urged better representation of connectivity across I‑15 and requested a map update to show how freeway constraints affect access in the city’s southern neighborhoods. Council Member Bryant Brown noted surprise at the identified north‑side service gap and the need to balance access across areas. The council voted unanimously to table Resolution 2025‑R‑67 and move it to the consent agenda after staff updates to the mapping graphics.
