District gives construction update, schedules power transfer and sets track/field timeline

Brad, the district construction representative, briefed trustees on progress in the addition and remodel work: rooftop HVAC units are being set, locker-room ceilings are being reinstalled, shop masonry and slab work are complete and windows and metal panels will be installed shortly. He told the board crews brought sewer and potable water to the concession stand and are preparing exterior finish work.
Brad gave a schedule milestone: "We have scheduled a complete shutdown on August 10, and the power will change from the old feed to the new transformer and the new gear on August 10," he said, asking the board and staff to plan around that brief outage. On the track and field, administration proposed regrading and installing irrigation in spring 2028 with a plan to vacate home track meets after the last large invitational in April, complete turf work and return for fall football with minimal lost home events. Trustees asked for design and cost estimates to be prepared for the August meeting and discussed practice/meet scheduling trade-offs to protect the fall season.
Administrators said much of the remaining work is final mechanical tie-ins and exterior panel installation, and they will update the board again in August with contingency spending and schedule adjustments.
