Selectboard members Mary-Catherine Graziano and Cary Sandvig reported on guidance from the Vermont League of Cities & Towns (VLCT) regarding the transfer of ARPA funds to a reserve. VLCT advised that a resolution recording the transfer be approved at a public meeting no later than Oct. 1, 2024 and that the transfer be warned for public vote at the November general election. The board set the wording for both the resolution and a voter article and scheduled a special meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024 to record and approve the plan.
Board members noted a similar process will be required to create a Capital Reserve and a Highway Reserve and to warn those articles for the March 2025 town vote. Members emphasized meeting the VLCT timeline so the transfer can be presented to voters at the scheduled election.
