Road commissioner flags drainage at private property and seawall repairs

Rusty Spaulding, serving as Road Commissioner, told the Selectboard the ongoing drainage problem at property owned by Jim Pearo becomes acute when it rains and that a likely remedy would be for the homeowner to raise the lawn height above the ditch.
Spaulding also noted holes in the town seawall and said he would ask John Yaratz to inspect and consider patching the damage. The board discussed the State paving grant status: Isle La Motte is low on the priority list but moves up as award cycles progress. An RFP for tree trimming is prepared but not released pending completion of open Main Street work; Member Mary-Catherine Graziano said she will contact Bruyette’s Tree Service to finish outstanding work now that VEC has completed related work.
