RRPC seeks three-town designees for May 6 disaster cooperative session; Ira’s emergency director to attend

Maggie O’Brien of the Rutland Regional Planning Commission reintroduced the Rutland Regional disaster cooperative initiative to the Ira Select Board and said Ira has been placed in the southwest sub-region alongside Poultney, Middletown Springs, and Wells. She said an in-person, three-hour facilitated discussion is scheduled for May 6 and asked the town to designate three people to participate.
Bob Toppin, identified in the minutes as Ira’s Emergency Management Director, agreed to attend the May 6 session. O’Brien asked the board to recruit two additional designees from Ira. The facilitated session is intended to help sub-regions identify common trends in emergency situations; the board tabled further discussion until it identifies the other two attendees.
