The Town of Ira Select Board convened on April 28, 2026 and handled several unanimous administrative and maintenance actions. Nathan Hewitt called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.; the board approved the agenda, signed the April 28 warrant and approved March 24 meeting minutes. Nathan moved to appoint Paul Russum to the Ira Planning Commission; Darin May seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board reviewed and adopted the Local Emergency Management Plan (LEMP) following a motion by Nathan and a second by Tim Carter; that motion also passed unanimously.
The board addressed highway and cemetery business and approved participation in FY27 Grants‑in‑Aid (motion to accept and sign approved unanimously). The board authorized an early salt order with Cargill for one load to be delivered after July 1. Cemetery work was authorized with the Vermont Old Cemetery Association (VOCA), and the board approved a purchase of one ton of Shurpac and reimbursement for the D2 stone‑cleaning solution. The meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
