Lazy Lake approves concurrency certificate, lifts stop-work order for 20 Northeast 24th Street site plan

The Village of Lazy Lake council voted at its Nov. 6, 2025 meeting to issue a Concurrency Review Certificate for the site plan at 20 Northeast 24th Street and to authorize lifting a stop-work order once required documents are submitted to Broward County. Village Planner Christian Waterval reported that field measurements and three surveys verified compliance with Village land-development regulations, and he noted the lot totals 21,300 square feet, exceeding the Village minimum of 10,000 square feet.
During discussion, council members and the project's architect, Robert Lincoln, addressed site-specific questions: a lighting pole on the property line will remain on the Village circuit but the applicant may propose aesthetic modifications subject to Village review; the council requested that shoreline riprap be reviewed to prevent erosion and the applicant agreed to inspect a neighboring example; council members also urged replacement of removed oak tree canopy and the applicant indicated plans to plant larger "character trees." A motion to approve the resolution and to lift the stop-work order upon submission of the final survey, elevation certificate and Broward County permits passed 3-0.
