Village to reconcile outstanding Fort Lauderdale Fire/EMS invoices dating to 2022

At the Feb. 5 meeting, the Village of Lazy Lake Council reviewed outstanding invoices from the City of Fort Lauderdale for Fire and EMS services, some of which date back to 2022 and some of which may have been mailed to incorrect addresses. Council members said the Village believes some payments may already have been made and that duplicate payments must be avoided.
Mayor Ray Nyhuis was directed to obtain bank statements to verify payments and to contact the City of Fort Lauderdale to reconcile the outstanding balance. The Village will follow up with Fort Lauderdale before issuing any additional payments to avoid duplication.
