The Selectboard spent part of its Nov. 20 session addressing the town’s vacant Road Commissioner position. Peter Brzozowy reported that Rusty Spaulding is willing to continue assisting with road work but is not interested in a full-time appointment. Pat Treckman said she has been spending about 20 hours per week on road-related duties and suggested a commission could distribute the workload.
Board members agreed each member will prepare to discuss candidates in December; Joe Deller will draft a public notice for The Islander and the town website to underscore the vacancy’s impact on residents and landowners. The job description for Road Commissioner will be reviewed and revised before it is posted for recruitment.
