The Isle La Motte Selectboard voted Nov. 20 to prioritize the southern end of East Shore Road (segment 94315) as the town’s primary candidate for the FY2026 Better Roads grant program. Chair Peter Brzozowy moved the motion; Selectboard member Pat Treckman seconded it and the board approved the selection “all in favor.”
Board members said recommendations from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) and the Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) guided the choice. The group noted the grant application deadline is Dec. 27, 2024, and that NRPC has been asked to help with engineering and application work. The board directed staff to proceed with the application and to seek contractor cost estimates to support the submission.
The decision front-loads a prioritized project list for the next grant cycle while the board separately considered other segments for future grants. Next steps include NRPC assistance with the application and contractor outreach for pricing estimates.
