Selectboard discusses immediate culvert repair on West Shore Road; limited bids received
Summary
No full bids were received for the West Shore Road ditching and culvert project. The board agreed to address one at‑risk section immediately—using town 2024 budget funds if grant timing or proof‑of‑completion requirements complicate grant use—and to pursue local contractors for remaining work.

The Selectboard reviewed the lack of full bids for the West Shore Road ditching and culvert project and focused on repairing a single culvert segment identified as at risk of collapse. Because grant requirements and the need to demonstrate proof of completion could expose the town to risk if the full project cannot be finished by the grant deadline, the board agreed that the at‑risk section may be repaired with funds from the 2024 budget.
Joe Deller agreed to purchase the culverts and John Yaratz said he would perform the smaller scope and provide stone to complete the immediate repairs. The board also said it would contact local contractors to determine whether any could complete the balance of the original project scope before the end of September.
