North River School District board approves routine items, renews Apollo Group agreements and okays $30,000 settlement

The North River School District Board of Directors convened Oct. 24 in the school library; Chairman Churape called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. The board approved routine business including minutes from Sept. 19 and Sept. 26, and the meeting agenda.
During the business session the board voted to approve warrants and payroll totals — including a general fund warrant batch and payroll of $133,396.32 — and approved a $30,000 settlement payout to a previous employee on a recorded roll call. Superintendent Winter also introduced a planning update from Apollo Group presenters who said Phase I is expected to be awarded in June 2025. The board renewed an interagency agreement and extended an associated contract with Apollo Group through Dec. 2025. The district fund balance was reported as $523,373. The meeting adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
