Neighbor asks Rathdrum to stop vehicles from damaging park right‑of‑way

Susie Cooley, a resident at 5419 West Majestic Avenue, urged the council to help stop repeated vehicle parking on the grass strip that is part of the city's right‑of‑way adjacent to her property and Majestic Park. "I'm here to ask the council for assistance in addressing an ongoing problem involving vehicles parking on the grassy area...adjacent to my residential property," she said.
Cooley said the eastern boundary of her property includes approximately 120 linear feet of city right‑of‑way and that curb was not installed there when the subdivision was expanded; she described repeated damage to turf, compacted soil, broken sprinkler heads and sanitation issues including littering and an incident of someone defecating near her air conditioner. She told the council she has worked with Parks & Rec staff (Eric Singer) and tried signs and temporary spikes, which were removed. The council thanked her and requested documentation and staff follow‑up; the mayor invited staff to work with the resident on practical remedies.
