The Board of County Commissioners approved a Uniform and Appearance Policy for the Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center at its July 13 meeting after a presentation and review of the written policy.
The policy sets uniform standards for detention officers and medical staff, requires county-issued identification and specifies approved footwear and grooming standards. It also addresses issuance and replacement of uniforms and equipment, reporting lost or damaged county items, accountability on separation from employment, and enforcement measures for noncompliance.
Jeff Daniels explained the policy during the meeting; Chairman Ross Selman made a motion to approve the policy and the motion passed unanimously. The policy text is filed with the minutes and prescribes operational steps for uniform replacement and supervisory enforcement.
