The Pittsburg County Board of County Commissioners approved tentative budgets July 13 for the county Animal Shelter and for the Pittsburg County Jail for Fiscal Year 2026-2027.
The animal shelter tentative budget recorded in the minutes is $572,491.84. The tentative budget recorded for the county jail is $1,621,170.32. Chairman Ross Selman made the motions to approve each tentative budget and the motions were seconded and passed unanimously.
These actions establish the county's tentative appropriations for the first half of the fiscal year; final budget adoption and any line-item changes will follow county budget procedures and public hearing requirements as required by state law.
