Village staff told trustees the annual civil-rights certification required by HUD has been updated to include references such as the Violence Against Women Act and other discrimination protections; the certification must be returned to HUD by the end of September. A HUD representative said the village scores well and would follow the updated language.
Staff also previewed zoning amendments to the Station Plaza North (SPN) district and said the board will consider a negative declaration for SEQR ahead of an August 19 adoption schedule. County planning recommended removing a universal six-unit cap for dwelling units in mixed-use buildings and replacing the phrase "exotic species" with "non-native to Westchester County" in the landscaping provisions so the language is clearer for county review. Staff will bring draft language back on August 12 for further discussion.
