Chamber Director Jaimie Braun told the council the Chamber's annual meeting is set for Monday, Feb. 16 from 6:00–8:30 p.m. at the Legion, distributed a tentative 2026 event schedule and noted the addition of a 'burger battle' for 2026 and plans for a Golden Globe-style awards event in 2027. Braun said the Murder Mystery will again be held in Dallas at the Legion.
Library Director Tara Engel said STEAM clubs for the new semester are underway, painting tutorials and story-time are well attended, and the Flight Path program continues with bird-themed books and activities for children and adults. Engel plans to complete the 2025 South Dakota State annual report and will advertise for a part-time library employee. Finance Officer Trudy Waterman presented three financial documents for council review: the 12-2025 Fund Balance Sheet, the 1-20-2026 Fund Balance Sheet, and the 1-20-2026 Bank Balance Sheet.
