"To date, we've had 476 dump truck loads delivered to our dump site, to which it's all being shredded and turned into mulch at the end of the day," O'Halloran said, adding that about 100 personnel from law enforcement, contractors and volunteers are involved.
O'Halloran said Boardman Township is "not 100% complete," and that some areas near the golf course are being managed by ODOT. He highlighted rapid coordination in the field — from chainsaw crews to traffic control — as a key reason the operation has moved quickly. "We're not paying attention to jurisdictional boundaries on this operation," he said, calling the work "a great multi‑agency operation." The director said the operation remains mid‑stream and that more work is planned for today and tomorrow.
Commissioners thanked O'Halloran and his team and urged continued cooperation with townships and state agencies. No formal vote or new funding authorization was taken during the update; commissioners framed the briefing as informational and applauded the collaborative response.
