The Chair updated the board that a FEMA buyout for a severely storm‑damaged property at 2165 Vermont Route 100 is approaching closing and that Vermont Emergency Management has been handling the matter. "It has been essentially under contract and consideration by FEMA via Vermont Emergency Management under one of its buyout programs for purchase by the town, fully funded by FEMA," the Chair said.
If completed, the town will accept the property, arrange for demolition via a request for proposals, and hold the parcel for public use subject to post‑acquisition restrictions. The Chair said she would post the demolition RFP on the town website and in local papers when the procurement package is ready.
