The Select Board approved a motion allowing a curb cut at a location proposed in concept plans for Legion Field so the Tuesday Night Live bandstand can be moved prior to construction of the library annex. Howard Romero, chair of Tuesday Night Live, told the board he needed temporary access to relocate the bandstand "before construction starts" and stressed urgency because the volunteer who can manage the move is ill.
Board members expressed concern about adopting a full field plan without wider public engagement, but they limited tonight’s decision to permission for a curb cut in the general location shown on the plan provided by the presenters. The motion included a condition that the curb cut be within town property, not encroaching on others, and that village permits and any required surveys be completed before work begins.
Howard Romero said the work can be done within the grant available for Legion Field improvements and emphasized that his single request of the board that evening was only for the curb cut to enable moving the bandstand out of the construction footprint.
