The Jamaica Select Board voted unanimously on Feb. 23 to appoint Jason Cass to the board on a temporary basis until the town meeting in early April. Chair moved the resolution describing Cass as a Jamaica resident and former planning commission member; Cass said only “Thank you” after the vote.
The appointment came early in the meeting as board members filled the vacancy created by Christina Robinson’s departure. The Chair said the appointment was intended to ensure the town has representation for any emergency meetings before voters elect seats at the annual town meeting. No member spoke against the motion and the vote was recorded by voice as in the affirmative.
