Randall, the town’s community economic development specialist, told the board he had not received any responses to the posted RFP for welcome-center improvements and that questions were to go to staff while proposals were to be filed with the town.
After discussion, a board member moved to extend the RFP deadline to May 30 at 4:00 p.m. so the rail-trail committee and staff could follow up with potential bidders; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Randall said staff had split responsibilities for questions and submissions and acknowledged that a prior deadline was missed, prompting the extension.
The extension is intended to give staff and committee members time to encourage local contractors to submit bids and to avoid reissuing the RFP entirely.
