Chair (speaker 1) said staff should finalize an agreement and clarify who will hold and maintain the device. Board members debated whether the town should formally sign an agreement and how the line will be routed in emergencies; the administrator was directed to work with village officials on a written arrangement.
The decision follows a village request that the town assume half of the $70 monthly bill for a phone now used for emergency notifications and forwarding when the town office is unavailable. A board member noted the village owns the device and the town would not sign the agreement at tonight’s meeting; staff will return any final agreement for implementation.
