ADS outlines integration plans for VTHR and Vision and explains high-availability approach

ADS staff explained how integrations between the new ERP and systems such as VTHR and Vision will change compared with the current batch-file environment.
"Today's current system is batch file processing... it is not as real time as we would like to see it," Denise Matthews said, adding that future-state integrations should be more real-time and support improved reporting. ADS said enterprise architecture and business architecture reviews have mapped datasets and information flows and that future integrations are expected to support more timely reporting.
On availability and backups, Josiah Rais said the data-lake solution will be configured for high availability and multi-tiered fallback processes; he cautioned that those protections would not help if an entire cloud provider like AWS experienced an extreme outage. Denise Matthews pointed to contractual uptime terms with cloud providers and said the state aims for at least four "nines" (99.99%) where feasible and that financial recourse clauses exist if contractual uptime is not met.
