Secretary Denise Riley Hughes told the Joint Information Technology Oversight Committee that ADS is executing a committee-funded network modernization project intended to replace legacy systems and standardize secure access for state employees across more than 300 office locations. "That project, which was a $10,000,000 investment, is well underway," she said.
The modernization seeks to provide predictable access whether services run in a data center or in the cloud and to reduce duplicated spending across agencies by centralizing network design and operations. Riley Hughes said the program will also support consistent security controls and simplify troubleshooting when data feeds or network links fail.
