Members propose narrowing JITOC to focus on the largest IT projects and produce a final oversight report

Several members told the committee that JITOC’s statutory charge is broad and that a narrower, targeted approach would produce more substantive oversight. Katha argued the committee could spend several months taking in‑depth testimony on key projects listed on the EPMO dashboard and then deliver a report to standing committees: “we could very easily spend a very productive 7 months focused only on taking testimony on key projects on the on the EPMO dashboard,” she said.
Supporters said focusing on the largest and highest‑risk projects would concentrate oversight where taxpayer dollars and operational risks are greatest; members discussed producing a written report summarizing deep dives on a small number of projects and then transferring responsibility to committees of jurisdiction.
