Legislator Rafaelia says she filed bill to add legislative and judiciary members to cybersecurity and AI councils

Member Rafaelia told the Joint Information Technology Oversight Committee that she has filed a bill draft to add legislative members and potentially judiciary members to the governor’s cybersecurity advisory council and to the AI council. “I had a bill draft in,” Rafaelia said, adding the request is to “add members legislative members and potentially judiciary members to the cybersecurity, council.”
Rafaelia said she expects the draft would come to JITOC and that she is open to sponsors and committee input. She suggested that, if the committee supports the proposal, the chair could send a letter or other communication to the Government Operations committee explaining JITOC’s position. The chair said a draft letter could be circulated by email for member review before it is sent.
