Turning Point outlines rural outreach plans; asks town to post contact information

Matthew Barlow, rural outreach coordinator for Turning Point in Windham County, told the Select Board on July 13 that his organization is expanding outreach into the rural towns and has started picking up clients through local visibility and peer connections. He described Turning Point as a peer recovery center that connects people to treatment, benefits and local coaches.
"Peer supported addiction recovery is proven through the literature to be the most effective way to recover from any kind of addiction, frankly," Barlow said. He asked the board to post a digital flyer and a link on the town website and offered to leave physical cards at the town office. Barlow said most basic services are free, treatment referrals can use Medicaid or private insurance where appropriate, and Turning Point is working to secure grants to expand full‑time outreach days in towns like Jamaica.
