Resident apologizes after misreading water/sewer policy; stands by principle on agency fees

During Citizen’s Time at the Jan. 13 council meeting, resident Julie Loggins offered a corrective statement about remarks she made at a prior meeting regarding a proposed water/sewer policy.
Loggins said she had misread the draft policy prepared by Public Works Director Brandon Frye and that, contrary to her earlier remarks, the policy lists the Fire Department as an exception to an unauthorized-use hydrant fee. She apologized to Frye for the misstatement but said she still believes the town should not impose the fee on other agencies in similar situations. “I apologize to Mr. Frye for the misstatement,” the council minutes record.
Council members received her follow-up during the public-comment portion of the Jan. 13 meeting; no council action was taken on that item during the meeting.
