Council approved a $100,000 line of credit from the Bank of Marion and awarded a fencing contract to Anthony's Fencing for security fencing at the town's water tank sites.
Public Works Director Brandon Frye presented three quotes for fencing around tank sites and lift stations. The council approved acceptance of the Bank of Marion line of credit and then voted to accept the low/selected bid from Anthony's Fencing by roll call.
A bid-comparison matrix provided in the meeting materials lists totals from multiple bidders (total estimates shown in the record include approximately $119,450, $64,911.58, and $100,310 for different bidders across site groupings). The council action authorizes execution of the contract consistent with the accepted bid and established credit line.
Council also authorized the streets and roads crew to remove three pine trees behind the train station during the public works report. The fencing award and line of credit provide the financing and procurement authorization needed to begin security work at water infrastructure sites.
