Selectboard tightens conditions on Vermont Sun event after safety lapses

Board members cited specific operational failures at the recent event — missing arrows, cones placed in travel lanes, insufficient high-visibility vests for course workers and out-of-date emergency-coverage documentation — and told Vermont Sun it must submit written acknowledgment of the board’s concerns plus documentation showing corrections at least two weeks before the June 28 event. The board said it will forward the summary to law enforcement for review and expects Vermont Sun to demonstrate how each issue will be corrected before additional approvals are granted.
