Executive Director reports staffing moves, pending audit, federal grants and new cybersecurity policy under review

The Executive Director's report covered personnel and administrative updates: staff vacancies are being filled, an offer has been made to a planner candidate, one intern will start in June, and the commission may hire an additional planner on a one‑year contract. The Executive Director said the commission has not yet received the final audit while transitioning to a new auditing firm but expects it soon.
Project and funding updates included progress on the Wolcott Wastewater project and receipt of multiple large federal grants; staff said they are reviewing policies to conform to federal grant standards and are adding a cybersecurity policy. The commission is also considering Congressionally Directed Spending projects and currently has a CDS grant for river gauges along the Lamoille. The Executive Director reminded board members to consider Marvin Award nominees and said the annual meeting will be held at Barnes Camp. Judy Bickford congratulated Trevor Braun on his election to the Elmore Selectboard.
